Inaugural "Voices for Hospices" Event was a Success!
Approximately 160 people attended our inaugural "Voices for Hospices" event held at CrossRoads Church on Saturday, October 1st, 2011.
Central Alberta definitely has talent!
From flamenco to jazz to gospel (and many others), we were fortunate to have nine individuals/groups come out to perform for us that night. Hats off to:
Greg Sawisky
Haeley and Tori Ginter
Micah Turchet
Kari Bayley
Nick Blackwood
Kristen Jantz
Potter's Clay
Jazz Ensemble from Red Deer College
Soliloquy and It's Time
Thank you ALL for sharing your time and talent and for lending your Voice to our event!
A special Thank You to Dr. Kim Adzich, our Master of Ceremonies and to all our volunteers for keeping the event flowing, enjoyable and well-organized for all attendees!
We are particularly grateful to Senator Sharon Carstairs who came to be our Keynote Speaker. Her address was both thought-provoking and tear-rendering. Our hearts were warmed to hear the success stories of those who have received compassionate end-of-life care but we were also reminded that we must continue to be the VOICE for the dying and their families. Thank you very much for your inspiring and motivational address.
Most of all, Thank You to all who attended this first event - we are so pleased that you have joined your Voice with our Red Deer Hospice Voice as we continue to make a difference by providing quality hospice care to residents of Central Alberta!
